Why My Work Isn’t Designed to Keep You Coming Back for Years

I want to tell you something that might sound strange coming from someone who runs a therapy practice: my goal is not to see you every week for the next three years.

My goal is to help you make the change you came for, and then let you go and live your life.

The Model I Don’t Believe In

There’s an old assumption built into a lot of therapeutic work — that real change takes years, that you need to keep returning indefinitely, that progress is measured in how long you’ve been in the room rather than how far you’ve moved. I understand where that comes from. Some things genuinely do take time and ongoing support, and I have deep respect for that kind of work.

But for a great deal of what brings people to me — a habit that won’t shift, an anxiety that’s taken over, a pattern of self-doubt that’s been running the show — I don’t believe the answer is years of sessions. I believe the answer is working directly and strategically with the actual source of the pattern, so the change is real, and it holds.

What Fast Change Actually Looks Like

Strategic hypnotherapy and coaching are built to work efficiently — not because efficiency is the point, but because your time and your life are the point. You didn’t come to me to have a decades-long relationship with a therapist. You came because something was in the way, and you wanted it gone so you could get on with living.

So that’s what I aim for. Real, lasting movement, in a timeframe that respects the fact that you have a life to get back to.

Moving On Is the Success

I know this might be a different way of thinking about it than what you’re used to. But if you leave my care because you’ve made the change you needed and you’re getting on with your life — that’s not a client I’ve lost. That’s the entire point of the work.

The Door Stays Open

None of this means you’re on your own once we’re done. Change isn’t always a straight line, and sometimes life throws something new at you, or an old pattern needs a check-in. If that happens, you don’t need to start from scratch, and you don’t need to feel like you’re going backwards.

You’re always welcome to come back for a one-off “top up” session, any time you feel you need it. No re-enrolment, no long conversation about starting over. Just support when you need it, for as long — or as briefly — as you need it.

That’s what this work is for.
